Ancient Animals
These little friends were inspired by the tattoos on the “Princess of Ukok,” also known as the “Siberian Ice Maiden” or the “Altai Princess,” a 5th-century mummy discovered in eastern Russia in 1993. She belonged to the Pazyryk people, a tribe of nomads that is now known for the animal motifs found in many of its artifacts!
These fantastical interpretations of Scythian-style animals may be produced with a mold, but they were each sculpted by hand. Each original piece and each mold are still Changeling productions, and each wax model is worked and finished by hand! They remain unique.
Baby stag is white bronze with two post pins. Measures about 1” across.
Baby boar is bronze and comes with adjustable black cord. Measures about 1.5” across.
Big stag may be available upon request by emailing here.
A note on animal jewelry: unless you belong to a culture that reveres the concept of ‘totem animals’ or ‘spirit animals,’ it is inappropriate to use those terms. Try a phrase like “token animal” or “animal guide,” or come up with something new!
